About the Photos

The photos start in 1976, the earliest pics I have of me and my bike. Sorry no shots of the mini bike, they're all just memories. The 1st one is in Georgia, than me heading home before being shipped overseas.

Me with no bike and than soon after returning home my new LTD. I took a ride out to Kansas to meet an old Army buddy and that shot is near Cheney, Kansas.

As time goes by technology really takes off as you'll see in the quality of the photo's

About Me

I'm Rob (RobKW) Kenworthy and I live in Western Sullivan County located in the lower Catskill Mountains of New York.

First let me tell you about my name, RobKW. When I was in the Army, long ago, the guys in my squad would call me Sargent KW for short. The KW stuck with me through the years from a few friends and when I started to write I adopted RobKW as my pen name.

I've been riding street bikes since 1975. My first motorized 2 wheeler was a 3 1/2 HP chopper mini bike my Mom bought for me when I was 12 or 13, hey it was a long time ago. I quickly outgrew it and had to borrow a friends Bultaco when I came off a jump and bent the forks on the mini.

I joined the Army in 1974 right out of High School. After basic training I was stationed at Ft. Benning , Georgia and that's when I bought my first street bike, a brand new Kawasaki KZ 400. One strange thing, I spent that Saturday in 1975 looking at other bikes including a Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster. Mainly because of the price I went with the Kawi. I just wanted to ride, the name tag made no difference to me.

I was off the bike a year when I was sent overseas. When I returned I traded the old KZ for a new Kawasaki KZ 1000 LTD. Some said I was crazy for going from the 400 to such a "big" bike. Crazy perhaps, but not stupid, I still own that bike.                                                         Since then I have aquired  a 1975 Kawasaki Z-1 900,  1979 Kawasaki KZ 1300, 1984 Kawasaki Voyager, 2000 Kawasaki Concourse and my tire eating 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000.

I have  ridden other models and anyone who knows me, knows I love em all and some day there may be a Harley XR1200 in my garage or a Moto Guzzi Grizo or a ZX14, or a............

I ride around 16 to 20K miles a year and hope to get more this year. Hope to see ya's out there on some of those 16 thousand or so miles.
